Early mornings in Cobá are something special. The air is fresh, the light is soft, and the jungle is just waking up. It's the perfect time to explore, take stunning photos, and feel the magic of the place without the noise or the heat. While most tours are still picking up guests at their hotels, we’ll already be inside the archaeological site, enjoying the calm, the view, and the songs of the birds, which love to sing the most at this hour.
With crystal-clear water and magical blue tones, this underground river feels like another world. What you see on the surface is amazing, but what lies below is just as breathtaking. It’s a place you’ll never forget.
Before returning to your hotel, we offer the chance to enjoy a real local meal outside the resort atmosphere. You can choose the restaurant, or if you prefer, our guide can suggest some great and honest options. The cost of the meal isn’t included, but the ride and wait time are. One of our top recommendations is La Playa beach club in Xpu-Ha
This is one of our longest tours. Even without multiple pick-ups and with fully dedicated service, we usually return around 5:00 PM. If you're looking to be back earlier, we recommend choosing a shorter tour.
A journey made for two — peaceful, personal, and unforgettable.
You may be expecting a beautiful day… but we plan to make it unforgettable.
This tour isn’t about checking boxes — it’s about connection: with nature, with culture, and with each other.
Cobá is one of the most fascinating sites in the region — not just for its ancient structures, but for its location deep in the jungle.
And unlike the crowds and chaos of larger group tours, your day will feel quiet, immersive, and special — because it’s designed just for you. …
We’ll pick you up at your hotel around 7:00 AM. That early start means we’ll get to Cobá just as the site opens, with soft light, cool air, and very few people around.
Your tickets will already be covered, so we’ll head straight in, no waiting.
To reach the main pyramid hidden deep in the forest, we’ll ride bikes through peaceful jungle paths — about 20 minutes each way.
Not into biking? No problem. You can walk at your own pace or hop on a “Maya limousine” — a tricycle taxi with a driver pedaling for you while you sit back and enjoy the ride.
Along the way, your private guide — someone who truly loves what they do — will share Cobá’s rich history with stories, not speeches.
After the guided portion, you’ll have time to explore freely, take couple photos, or just enjoy the shade of the trees together.
Next, it’s time to cool off in an open-air cenote.
This one is a favorite — emerald-green, quiet, and perfect for a refreshing swim. Jump in or float peacefully… it’s your moment.
There’s no rush — most couples spend about 45 minutes here, but you decide.
And now for the surprise: although Cobá is a highlight, most of our guests say their favorite part was the underground river.
That’s why we leave it for last — saving the magic for the final chapter.
You’ll enter a world unlike anything else — snorkeling in a crystal-clear cave where the water glows blue and the silence is pure.
It’s like time stops. Just the two of you, nature, and something truly unforgettable.
After the adventure, you can head straight back to your hotel — or, if you’re hungry, we can take you to a local restaurant.
You’re welcome to choose, or we can recommend a few hidden gems with delicious, honest food.
This private tour is designed for 2 to 4 people.
No buses. No crowds. Just a day made for couples who want to experience Cobá — and everything around it — in a truly special way.

EXCELLENT Based on 34 reviews Javier Aguiar23 September 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We booked a private tour with Private Tours Playa del Carmen, and it was truly one of the best experiences we’ve ever had! Our guide, Beatriz, picked up my husband and me at 6:30am in Playa del Carmen for a private tour of Chichen Itzá. Arriving right at opening time was a huge plus—it wasn’t crowded at all, and we had plenty of time to explore comfortably before the heat and big groups arrived. From the start, Beatriz was incredible—super friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. As a gay couple, we felt completely safe and comfortable with her the entire day. She shared fascinating historical and cultural insights about the Mayan people, local traditions, and food, going above and beyond in every way. After Chichen Itzá, we visited the charming Pueblo of Valladolid, where Beatriz took us to a locally owned restaurant called Paladar del Cura, right across from a beautiful old convent. The food was outstanding! My husband loved the Cochinita Pibil, and I had the Longaniza, which was rich in flavor and so tender. I also got to try a Yucatán artisanal beer, while my husband enjoyed a refreshing local drink. Beatriz kept us comfortable throughout the day with cold bottled water and even surprised us with an ice-cold beer after our tour of Chichen Itzá, which was perfect! To finish the day, she took us to Cenote Hacienda Chukum, an absolutely stunning cenote with crystal-clear blue water. Life vests were provided, and swimming alongside small fish made it such a magical experience. We returned to our hotel with plenty of time to relax by the pool in the afternoon—so much better than the big group tours that get back late in the evening. Overall, we give Beatriz and Private Tours Playa del Carmen a solid five stars. The tour was worth every penny for the personalized service, comfort, and unforgettable experiences. If you’re considering booking, don’t hesitate—you’ll be glad you did! Derek Hansford7 September 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Beatriz was an absolutely amazing guide. Friendly conversation on the ride to Chichen Itza. Once there she took care of everything making sure we were where we needed to be. This wasn't just a "here it is tour". She went into details of the who, why, what, & when. She knows the spots and angles too take the Instagram worthy pictures. Lunch in Valladolid was delicious. Also took some really cool pictures there as well. Cenote was nice and refreshing. Everything was safe and secure. Do not hesitate to use her or this company. 10 out of 10 would recommend to friends and family. Thanks for the once in a lifetime experience. Christine Le29 August 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Keshi was a wonderful guide. He constantly communicated with us from the point of booking through the end of the tour. The day started off great with Keshi being very timely and even making sure he was able to pick us up in front of the hotel since my dad was elderly. He had drinks prepared for us and made sure to emphasize that this day was about us and how we wanted it to go. When we got to Chichen Itza he dropped us off in front with our tour guide and then met up with us after parking. He even went back to get us water before we started our tour. After the Chichen Itza tour he had beers waiting for us. We requested to do lunch before going to the Cenote and he kindly obliged. He took us to a local restaurant that was absolutely delicious. After lunch we went to the Cenote and even there he made sure we got the best experience talking us through everything and even showing us how to get the best experience on the zip line. Despite the rain storm that started towards the end of our Cenote experience Keshi was so helpful and even pulled up the car and helped my dad get to the van. Overall, thanks to Keshi we had the best day and he was kind and funny throughout the trip. He also was a good driver and made sure we got back safely. Thanks Keshi for the great experience! daniel le28 August 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Keshi did a great job taking care of us from start to finish. He had our tour for chichen itza set up with an amazing guide, Mayan lunch spread, with finishing touches at the chenote making sure we were alright. At the very end of our day it did thunderstorm hard but keshi made sure to drive safe and take us all back to Cancun safely. Would definitely book again and highly recommend. ivy bui27 August 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent tour guide. Highly recommended.
